L&T Wins $411m Order For New Terminal At Kempegowda Airport In Bengaluru
The Buildings and Factoriesbusiness of L&T Construction, a division of Larsen & Toubro, has won an EPC order worth INR30.36bn ($411m) from Bangalore International Airport (BIAL) for the construction of Terminal-2 (T2) of the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. Once completed, the 255,000m² Phase 1 of T2 will augment the capacity of the airport by 25 million passengers per annum (MPPA).
The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of Terminal-2. This will include the integration of services and utilities, along with the airport’s systems, support facilities and buildings. L&T Construction is also constructing the New South Parallel Runway (NSPR), apron and other auxiliary buildings at the Bengaluru airport. The design for Terminal-2 has been prepared by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm.
